I followed the steps and downloaded uTorrent and the entire file downloaded correctly. First, I downloaded The Sims 3: The Complete Store file from what I believe is the old G4TW site. I discovered this and wanted all of the Sims 3 Store content. I also have some original bought EA store content, to begin with. Though I echo OP's warning not to combine sliders. So, to start, I have all of The Sims 3 expansion packs and stuff packs bought original from years ago. The games I have downloaded are EA, for reference.
I've had no problems combining tuning mods into a single package. Delphy's tool is great, but it doesn't catch all problems. Test it in your game before combining it with trusted CC or mods.
When you download a new mod or CC, besides running it through the Dashboard tool, I also recommend you place it in a probation subfolder in your Mods folder. I HIGHLY recommend that you use Delphy's Dashboard tool to scan your packages for duplicates, corrupt files, and conflicts before combining them. I came up with this system because I have a ton of CC and find it easier to locate something by looking at pictures than reading file names and trying to remember/guess what they are. Then you just have recombine the remaining packages. If you change your mind about a particular piece of CC and want to delete it your game, then you can quickly locate that individual package file from your backup folder by glancing through the images and deleting the corresponding package. So if you have a combined package file named july_05_2008, then you should have a backup folder named july_05_2008. Have them sorted into subfolders with the same names as the corresponding combined package files. Save them somewhere besides your Mods folder. Keep the individual CC package and its image file together.ĭon't delete the original, individual package files after you've combined them using CC Magic or s3pe. Organization/back-up for those who have LOTS of custom content you want to combine: When you download new CC, download a picture of what the item is and give it the same name as the CC package. There are a few tips I want to add, though: I definitely recommend combining package files to speed up load time. I won't pretend to be an expert, but if anyone has any questions I'd be happy to try and answer them.
packages into about six big ones, my game literally runs like new, it's unbelievable. I have 3411 cc files and it was taking around 10+ minutes to start up the game, also building and CAS was incredibly slow, making it almost unplayable. Being in the combined files messes them up.Īnyway, I wouldn't be surprised if this has been posted before, but I just recently learned about it, gave it a try and holy shit. Important note:: Keep ALL mods separate, including sliders, camera mods, anything. It will ask you to name the combined file (I suggest like this: July25_1, July25_2, etc. If you have a lot of cc files, choose around 1/5th of them (I suggest no more than 150-200)
The tutorial is super easy to follow, but in case you're not sure.
